Praise the Lord!
Praise Him with the timpani,
For He is majestic, the High King above all kings.
Praise Him with the trumpet, proclaim his wondrous deeds,
For He rescues his chosen ones, the needy and the downtrodden –
the last will be first, and the first will be last. a
Praise Him on the organ,
For our Lord is the Almighty and strong to save;
Our God is an awesome God. b
Praise the Lord!
Praise Him with the flute,
For His Creation is beautiful;
Every leaf and flower testifies to the glory of His name.
Praise Him with the bassoon,
For His wisdom is beyond human understanding.
Praise Him with the clarinet,
For He is our guide, our light that shines in the darkness.c
Praise Him with the horn,
For His righteousness is perfect;
He is the opposite of sin.
Praise Him with the oboe,
For He is pure and steadfast, perfect in righteousness and in heart;
His faithful love will ever pierce our souls.
Praise the Lord!
Praise Him with the viola, give Him thanks:
For He is good; His love endures forever.d
Praise Him with the violin,
For He is our comfort by day
And our song in the night.e
Praise Him with the cello,
For greatly we have sinned against our Lord and Maker,
But He loved us so much that gave his only begotten Son to die in our place that we might live eternally with Him. f
Praise the Lord,
With all your being, praise Him;
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” g
Sing His praise, raise your voice to tell all the world,
For He has done marvelous things; h
He is altogether wonderful.
Worship Him in perfect harmony with one another,
Together praise His Name,
For we are members of Christ’s body, and together we shall serve God.
